About

My name is Sarah Moesch and I am a certified psychodynamic therapist and clinical psychologist working in Berlin. Originally from Germany, I spent a lot of time abroad during my studies and lived in different cultures.

After receiving my masters in clinical psychology from the Freie University Berlin I continued my training at the Berlin Academy for Psychotherapy on depth psychology and psychodynamic theory and practice.

Additionally, I am trained in intercultural therapy and political education. Currently, I am working at my private practice in Prenzlauer Berg.

My approach

In my opinion a good therapeutic relationship is the foundation for making therapy a working experience. I try to create an appreciative and tolerant atmosphere in which each client can feel safe and can open up. I believe that when we have a space to explore ourselves with openess, we can become aware of our inner self and start paying attention to our feelings and motives. During the therapeutic process we will focus on the here and now and how it is determined by your past. As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I believe that presenting symptoms have underlying roots and that those deeper roots needs to be adressed. Symptoms may change but, if not adressed, the underlying issues remain. Thus, during therapy we do not only focus on the symptoms but talk about everything that might come up during the session. The psychodynamic approach then relies on the interpersonal exchange between a therapist and a client, in order to establish and develop new strategies that the client can use to create changes.

Qualifications

I went through an extensive 10 years long training period to become a psychologist (Master of Science) first and later a psychotherapist with German state license (“Approbation”).
